What's a busy box????

Busy boxes were an idea I came across on pinterest. A box of "things" that create a play invitation. We have all sorts. Some are sensory, some are learning based, and some are just plain fun. All the boxes have a cover and a home. My kids take one out and play with it as long as they want....HOWEVER THEY WANT (that's the hard part for me). they are created to initiate the mind and allow them to explore. If a box isn't too exciting to them I either change it up, put it away, or ask them how it would be more fun. All of our containers were purchased from the Dollar Tree (my best friend) and most of the items were also found there. I find new inspiration at the dollar tree every time we go!!! It's amazing and easy to stay more frugal!!! These are some pictures of some of our busy boxes.
